Alex Lai, PhD, Founder of Magnifygen LLC Dr. Lai is the Founder of Magnifygen LLC and the Owner of SPEED BioSystems LLC. Magnifygen is a start-up company developing new drugs in early stage and SPEED BioSystems provides medical research services to the research community. Dr. Lai graduated from Nankai University followed by receiving his PhD degree from The Academy of Military Medical Sciences, China. Dr. Lai conducted Postdoctoral researches in Yale University and NIH and was a scientist at OriGene Technologies before becoming an Entrepreneur with experiences of applying and receiving government grands to support his Entrepreneurship journey.

Jason (Feng) Ma, MD, LL.B, LL.M, Law Office of Jason Ma, PLLC Mr. Ma has extensive experience in food and drug law, intellectual property law, business law as well as China law. Mr. Ma has advised numerous pharmaceutical, medical device, food and cosmetics companies on food and drug regulatory matters in China and in the U.S. Before his legal career in 1992, Mr. Ma practiced as a medical doctor for four years in Guangzhou. He has law degrees from China, UK and UC-Berkeley School of Law (US). He has lawyer’s qualification in China and the US states of NY, CA and D.C. He is also a counsel of Mei & Mark LLP.

She currently works for the World Bank Group in the area of talent acquisition and HR analytics. Before joining the World Bank Group. She has worked for Hewlett Packard, Cisco Systems, GE, Dell and JP Morgan with increasing responsibilities in Human Resource Area. Mrs. Xu received her undergraduate degree from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China and MBA from Drexel University, Philadelphia, US.

Patrick Hu, MD, Senior Safety Physician, AstraZeneca Dr. Hu's career began in 1978 to join the Second Military Medical University in Shanghai. In 1993, after successful researches and passed Medical tests, Dr. Hu was licensed and board certified to practice medicine in the United States and had his own clinics for years to serve patients. In 2005, Dr. Hu as Medical Director directly designed clinical studies supporting approval of Humira, the most successful innovative drug in the world in 2014 benefited tens of millions of patients. Dr. Hu currently is a Senior Safety Physician in AstraZeneca supporting New Drug Development.

Kevin (Cishan) Li, PhD Dr. Li is a product quality reviewer at Office of Biotechnology Products (OBP) at CDER/FDA, responsible for reviewing the CMC section of INDs and BLA for therapeutic proteins. Prior to OBP, Dr. Li was a product reviewer at the Office of Lifecycle Drug Products for generic drugs. Prior to FDA, Dr. Li was an analytical scientist at MedImmune responsible for method development and project/people management. Dr. Li conducted postdoctoral research on glycoprotein engineering at University of Maryland. Dr. Li received his undergraduate degree from Peking University and Ph. D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

C.J. George Chang (張景杰), DVM, MS, PhD, DABT, CQA, PMP, RAC Dr. Chang is a senior pharmacologist at the FDA/CDER Oncology review team. Before joining FDA in 2008, Dr. Chang had served as a Study Director (GLP-focus) and a Sponsor Representative (GMP- or GCP-focus) in contract research, bioinformatics, and pharmaceutical organizations. Dr. Chang earned his BVM (Vet Med) from the National Taiwan University, his first MS (Vet Path) from University of Minnesota, and his PhD (Vet Phys/Pharm) from The Ohio State University. He is a CBA Board member and serves as co-chair for 2016-2017 workshops. Dr. Chang is also the chair for the local chapter of the American Society for Quality (ASQ509).
